💻 ACCOUNT & ACCESS

Overview

Multiverse & The Flip will remain fully accessible until the end of April 2026. From that date onwards, the app, the game and their services will be taken offline. We know this is difficult, and we encourage everyone to revisit and capture the spaces that meant the most to you.

What happens to my account after May 1?

After May 1, 2026, Multiverse and The Flip will no longer be accessible, and you will not be able to log in. Your Meta Quest account will remain completely unaffected. However, your Multiverse accounts, including but not limited to any accounts set up on multiverseonline.io will be deleted.

Please note: due to time zones we recommend you assume that some accounts access becomes unavailable on the 30th April 2026. 

When exactly will the shutdown happen?

The shutdown is planned for May 1, 2026, meaning the app will no longer be available starting at 00:00 UTC.

Will I still be able to log in after shutdown?

No. Once servers are offline, login to the app/game will no longer be possible. There may be a delay between the app servers shutting down and your multiverseonline.io account becoming inactive.

Can I download my creations?

There isn’t a way to download creations directly. We encourage you to record walkthroughs and take screenshots of your spaces before the end of April so you can preserve those memories.

Can I transfer my account or content elsewhere?

No, accounts and content cannot be transferred to other platforms.

What will happen to the STEAM version of Multiverse?

We will not be launching the Steam version in the foreseeable future. The beta test channel will be closed.

Will multiverseonline.io remain accessible?

No. The website will be taken offline following the shutdown.

🌎WORLDS, BUILDS & CREATIONS

Overview

Your creations are at the heart of Multiverse. All spaces will remain accessible until the end of April. After that, they will no longer be available online, so we strongly encourage you to preserve your memories now.

What happens to my rooms / plots / stores / cities?

They will remain accessible until the end of April 2026. After shutdown, they will no longer be available. An internal backup may be retained for administrative purposes, but it will not be accessible to users.

Can I record or archive my world?

You’re very welcome to record or capture your world. However, there is no built-in archiving or export system for Multiverse creations.

Will you provide an archive or offline viewer?

Unfortunately, no, due to the technicalities of how Multiverse was created for streaming, an offline viewer will not be available.

Will anything remain accessible in read-only mode?

No, nothing will be available to access in any offline or read-only mode.

🪙 METACOINS & VIRTUAL ITEMS

Overview

Metacoins and virtual items are digital goods governed by a combination of our & META’s Terms & Conditions. While they are non-refundable, they remain fully usable in the app/game until the servers are disabled.

What happens to my Metacoins?

Metacoins can continue to be used within the app, until the end of April.

Can I get a refund for unused Metacoins?

No. As outlined in both our and META’s Terms, Metacoins are not eligible for refund.

What happens to virtual items I purchased?

Virtual items will no longer be accessible after shutdown and will be deleted.

Will there be a final event in Multiverse before shutdown?

Yes. We’ll continue hosting events, including special drops and a farewell celebration. We warmly encourage the community to organize and share their own events as well.

💳 SUBSCRIPTIONS & PAYMENTS

Overview

We want to make the subscription process as clear and fair as possible during this transition.

What happens to my subscription?

The last subscription payments will be processed 30 days before shutdown (April 1, 2026).

Monthly subscriptions will remain active through the end of April at the latest. New subscriptions or renewals will no longer be available after April 1. If you have an annual subscription that extends beyond May 1, you may request a refund for the unused portion by contacting support@ftl.ltd. Refund requests will be processed in the order they are received, starting after May 1.

How do I cancel my subscription?

While it is not required for you to cancel your subscription, instructions for those who wish to do so can be found here: https://www.multiverseupdates.com/subscription-guide.

Please note:
If you cancel an active subscription yourself, you are not eligible for a refund as per our Terms & Conditions.

Am I entitled to a refund?

If you have an active annual subscription that extends beyond May 1st, you may request a refund for the unused time by contacting us after April 1st, 2026. We will process requested refunds after May 1st, 2026.

How are partial refunds calculated?

The first 10 months of the annual subscription reflect the standard monthly rate. The final 2 months represent the annual plan discount. Refunds are calculated accordingly, prorated based on the remaining full months of your term.

When will refunds be processed?

We will process refund requests as quickly as possible after May 1st. While we cannot guarantee a specific timeline, we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. 

What happens if I don’t cancel my subscription myself?

Your subscription will automatically cancel at some point in April or at the latest on May 1st.

We want to make sure everyone has time to revisit, celebrate, and say goodbye.

Why are you shutting down?

What happens between now and May 1?

The app remains fully usable. Subscriptions will be cancelled 30 days before shutdown, which may result in some subscription-only features becoming unavailable.

Will there be any more app updates or bug fixes before the shutdown?

Development has shifted toward server maintenance and the farewell events. No further feature updates or non-critical bug fixes are planned.

Will there be farewell events?

Yes. We are planning farewell events and encourage the community to host their own celebrations as well.

Will in-app purchases be disabled?

No. Metacoins may continue to be purchased and used until the end of April 2026.

🔐 DATA & PRIVACY

Overview

We remain committed to handling your data responsibly and in accordance with all applicable laws.

What happens to my personal data?

Your data continues to be securely stored until shutdown. Afterward, personal and billing data will be deleted in line with legal requirements. Some data may remain with us for tax & accounting purposes. If you previously opted into marketing communications, we may retain your email for updates about future FTL projects. We will never share your data with third parties.

Will my account data be deleted?

Yes. Specific Multiverse and The Flip account data will be deleted following shutdown, subject to legal retention obligations and in due course.

How can I request deletion?

How long will you retain my data?

Data will only be retained as long as required for legal, accounting, or dispute resolution purposes.

What happens to my uploaded content?

Uploaded content will be deleted within 90 days after shutdown.

🫂 FUTURE OF THE FTL / FTG TEAM

Overview

While Multiverse and The Flip are ending, we remain deeply grateful for the journey we’ve shared.

Is this the end of FTL?

No. FTL continues to operate as a company.

Will there be a new project?

There are no announcements at this time.

Will Multiverse or The Flip ever return?

We cannot make promises about the future.

Can the community continue elsewhere?

We encourage you to continue friendships on other platforms. We plan to keep Discord open while still in use.

Will Discord stay open?

Yes, we plan to keep it active for the immediate future.

Can someone buy the platform?

We are open to discussions with potential investors and/or acquirers. 

Can the community crowdfund it?

We sincerely appreciate the sentiment. At this time, there are no crowdfunding plans. However, if a community group is sincere in their desire to maintain the servers directly themselves, we are open to a conversation. After May 1st, this will not be possible as data will start to be deleted.
